FAMILY MEDIATION

What is Family Meditation?

Family mediation is the process of allowing a neutral, third party professional to step in and help you resolve disputes and make future arrangements following your separation. A mediator will not tell you what to do, but instead will help both parties involved reach a fair agreement within a respectful atmosphere.

Is the Process for Me?

Family mediation is a faster, less taxing process than undergoing a long and drawn out court battle (on top of an already difficult separation)

The process is more affordable than going through the judicial system

Family mediation can be tailored to your situation

For example, a mediator would consider the boundaries put in place between you and your ex partner, while a court may not accommodate these boundaries

Family mediation is less strenuous on your children compared to the judicial system and a mediator will always help you focus on your childs’ needs

A mediator would also be able to help reassess prior arrangements, as your children grow older, and will make rearrangements with you accordingly

The process is mediated by an impartial professional who wants to help minimize overall stress and conflict following a separation, whereas a court would not be able to afford the time and effort to mitigate issues
